Seasonal Water Bailiff (6 Months commencing Monday 2nd June 2014)
A vacancy for the above post exists with Nith District Salmon Fishery Board (NDSFB), the statutory body responsible for the management of migratory salmonid species of fish in the River Nith catchment.
The role requires the individual to work alone and as part of the existing team. Duties include all aspects of modern fisheries management including:
Enforcement of Fisheries Legislation
Scientific monitoring
Collection of samples and data
Liaison with angling and other river user groups
Attending and participating in public events to promote the aims of NDSFB
Maintenance of the Board’s hatchery operations
The successful applicant must have good communication skills, hold a full driving licence with category B&E car and trailer, Scottish (IFM) legal qualification, possess knowledge of fishing and enjoy working in an outdoor environment. The post is based at Auldgirth. The hours are based on 40 hours per week and will involve night shift and weekend work.
