Sampling sea trout for the Celtic Sea Trout Project

Obtaining sea trout samples in the marine environment has been the priority for the Nith DSFB in relation to their contribution to the Celtic Sea Trout Project.  Assisted by the Trust we have used a number of netting methods at various locations within the jurisdiction of the Board to attempt to capture sea trout.  It is important that we sample throughout the year to obtain a cross section of the population of sea trout which navigate through the Solway.
