Opening of the River Nith salmon fishing season

Today we would normally be celebrating the first day of the River Nith’s salmon fishing season by getting together on the banks of the Nith to toast the river with a splash of whisky. Unfortunately, that has not been possible this year due to Covid-19 restrictions so please see the following video from Percy Weatherall, Chairman of the Nith District Salmon Fishery Board as he welcomes in the 2021 season.
