Fishing days at Drum Loch

participate in a day’s angling tuition on a local trout fishery.  This year, Dumfries High School and Wallace Hall Academy took up the offer and enjoyed a day’s fishing on Drum Loch.  The weather was kind to them and a few fish were caught.  This initiative aims to spark an interest in angling in young people and hopefully encourage new anglers to take up the sport.  Fewer and fewer young people are taking up angling these days and the NCFT makes all efforts to bring new anglers to the sport whilst giving them a background into the freshwater environment and the conservation involved.
